Platinum Developments Breaks Ground on its First Project in the Caribbean

Nevis, West Indies, May 13, 2024 – Platinum Developments (Nevis) Limited (Platinum) has announced today that it has broken ground on its first project in the Caribbean.  The project, Platinum Beachfront Villas, will serve as a model home that will showcase its turn-key development capabilities and products of companies that Platinum represents in St. Kitts and Nevis and in the CARICOM.

Honourable, Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis, who attended the groundbreaking ceremony held at the construction site said, ‘What impresses me most is that Platinum is including sustainability and is introducing new technologies and top end finishes that high end of the market would expect.’

Errol Douglas, Civil and Structural Engineer for the Project and the Senior Consultant Engineering for Platinum Developments added, ‘In the overall development, it was thought that it’s not a building that’s just being built, but it’s also a transfer of technology. Our partners would be involved in the promulgation of the quality of a new product for sustainability. So that the economy of this island and this federation would be bolstered by the whole concept of the four pillars of sustainability.’

Michael Morrison, Project Manager of Surrey Paving the General Contractor of the Project stated,

‘We at Surrey Paving believe that this partnership is going to be successful, Surrey Paving has a tradition of being successful when it comes to innovation. Speaking about innovation, we are happy that we on this side are the first to use MST Bars, GFRP reinforcement. As Mr. Douglas said earlier, there’s going to be a transfer of technology and information. We are glad and happy that we are at the fore front of this transfer.’
